RUN CHILD RUN

Lieutenant Daniel Tonkei, a blind war veteran, helps his 14-year-old grand daughter Subira achieve her dream of becoming a professional runner. However, when an old wealthy man named Lagat denies Subira the chance to participate in an international scholarship opportunity, Tonkei must decide whether to risk cultural respect and even imprisonment to help Subira. Tonkei leads the fight against early marriages of underage girls in his community, but he must also navigate his friendship with Lagat, who he made an oath to betroth their unborn daughters many years ago. Tonkei has since had a change of heart on the issue of early marriage and is fighting against the system.
The short film RUN explores the themes of friendship, loyalty, tradition, and the dangers of harmful cultural practices, inspiring and moving audiences.
